Meet Homa: The Skin Expert Behind Zahav Medspa’s Signature MicroPeel Treatment

At Zahav Medspa in Scottsdale, we’re proud to offer treatments that don’t just pamper the skin—they transform it. One of our most requested services is the MicroPeel, a powerful blend of microneedling and chemical peeling that delivers real, radiant results. And at the heart of this treatment is Homa, our incredible head esthetician.

We sat down with Homa to learn more about her journey in skincare, what makes the MicroPeel so effective, and why clients trust her with their most personal skin goals.

A Conversation with Homa:
The Glow Behind Zahav’s Signature MicroPeel

This week, I had the pleasure of sitting down with Homa, our brilliant and beloved head esthetician here at Zahav Medspa, for a little skin talk. We chatted about her journey, her passion for skincare, and of course, our signature MicroPeel treatment- one of the most powerful and transformative services we offer.

If you’ve never heard of the MicroPeel before, here’s the scoop: it’s a carefully curated combination of microneedling and a PCA chemical peel.

Microneedling helps stimulate collagen production, smoothing out texture, reducing fine lines, and improving elasticity. Meanwhile, the PCA peel works to brighten the complexion, even out pigmentation, and speed up cellular turnover.

Together, these two treatments work synergistically to deeply rejuvenate the skin, leaving it smoother, firmer, and more radiant with minimal downtime.

Now before diving into the interview, check out these incredible before-and-after photos—and don’t miss the current promo we’re running on MicroPeel sessions!

Enjoy the read! 💛

before and after micropeel

Moses: Homa, you’ve built such a loyal following here at Zahav. Can you tell us a bit about how you got started in this field?

Homa: Absolutely! I’ve always been drawn to anything wellness-related, especially skincare. After completing my training in Arizona, I worked in a few different clinics, gaining hands-on experience with both traditional facials and advanced medical-grade treatments. What I really love is being able to connect with clients, understand their skin, and help them build confidence. Becoming the head esthetician at Zahav has given me the freedom to create fully customized experiences for every client that walks in.

Moses: That’s why people love you – you really meet them where they’re at. Let’s talk about our signature MicroPeel. What is it, exactly?

Homa: The MicroPeel is a combo treatment – microneedling followed by a chemical peel. Each on their own is powerful, but together, they work in synergy to boost collagen, resurface the skin, and really amplify results. It’s great for people dealing with fine lines, acne scars, sun damage, texture, and just overall dullness.

Moses: Can you walk us through what the treatment looks like from start to finish?

Homa: Of course! First, we do a double cleanse to prep the skin. If the client wants, we’ll add dermaplaning to gently remove dead skin and peach fuzz for better product penetration. Then, I apply a numbing cream and wait about 20 minutes while the client is under full-body red light therapy.

Before starting microneedling, I do what I call the “poke test” to make sure the client is fully numb and comfortable. Then we begin microneedling, using hyaluronic acid- which hydrates and plumps the skin during the process.

After that, I layer on a chemical peel- usually between 2 to 4 layers depending on the client’s skin and what we’re targeting. The final step is neutralizing the peel to calm the skin and seal in the benefits.

Moses: It’s definitely a science. How do you customize each session?

Homa: Everything is tailored. I adjust needle depth based on the area we’re treating- for example, I go shallower around the eyes and deeper where there’s more texture or scarring. The type of chemical peel also depends on the client’s skin type, tone, and concerns- whether they’re oily, dry, sensitive, or dealing with pigmentation.

Moses: And it’s not just for the face, right?

Homa: Not at all! We can treat the neck, chest, back, arms, stomach- even the booty. Anywhere the skin could use smoothing, tightening, or resurfacing, the MicroPeel can help.

Moses: What should clients expect after their appointment?

Homa: In the first 24- 48 hours, you might feel some tightness, experience light redness, and see mild flaking or peeling. That’s your skin turning over and renewing itself. I always give clients a personalized post-care plan, including when to resume actives and how to stay hydrated. And of course, SPF is non-negotiable afterward!

Moses: You’ve seen some amazing results. Any favorite client stories?

Homa: Oh, so many! I had one client who was getting ready for her wedding. She came to me six months out with acne scars and uneven tone. After a series of MicroPeels, her skin was absolutely glowing on her big day- she even sent me photos from the ceremony!

Another client in her 50s told me she hadn’t felt good about her skin in years. After two treatments, she said, “I feel like I’m aging backwards.” That’s the kind of feedback that makes it all worth it.

Moses: That’s beautiful. What do you love most about this treatment – and about working here at Zahav?

Homa: I love that the MicroPeel is effective but gentle- it’s powerful, but still something I can adjust for each person. It’s not one-size-fits-all, and neither are the results. What I love about Zahav is the energy here. We take the time to listen, to educate, and to truly care. It’s not about pushing products or trends- it’s about creating a safe space where people feel supported and seen.

Moses: Couldn’t agree more. Thanks so much for sharing your story- and your expertise.

Homa: Thank you! I’m so grateful to be part of something that helps people feel like their best selves.
